NEEDLES IN THE CAMEL'S EYE
JULY 14 - SEPTEMBER 8, 2012

Those who know
They don’t let it show
They just give you one long glance
And you’ll go oh, oh, oh, oh.

Why ask why
For by the by and by,
All mysteries are just more
Needles in the camel’s eye

Needles in the Camel’s Eye examines the construction and dissemination of images—whether produced for scientific, artistic, or capitalistic purposes (or all three)—and the manners in which artists internalize and reorient them. The artists on view here recursively convey meaning with simultaneous clarity and reticence by applying pressure to formal and material legibility, leaving their works intentionally unresolved. While deftly navigating art historical, theoretical, and technological discourses, these artists create discursive constellations reflecting their shifting approaches toward artistic production. The goal is not for the viewer to extract cohesive meaning. Instead, the exhibition attempts to reflect imagistic agency in relation to an increasingly networked albeit frenetic society.
